Meet Jill Comins
Licensed Professional Counselor, MA, BC-DMT, LPC

Welcome! Do you ever marvel at the seemingly spontaneous yet perfectly timed unfolding of a fern, the first burst of spring flowers, or, the steady unhurried growth of a tree?
As plants and trees awaken to the sun and warming of the soil, similarly, we will work together to allow your process to unfold on a timeline that’s right for you. My goal is to provide a welcoming environment that suits your individual and diverse needs in therapy, allowing your growth and healing to unfold organically. It is my belief that this is the path to lasting and sustainable change.
My background + Approach
Since 2007, I’ve been treating individuals with an array of mental health concerns within a variety of settings including in-patient psychiatric hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, and out-patient settings. My interest and engagement in dance/creative movement and contemplative practices such as yoga and mindfulness informs my understanding of healing and wellbeing as a holistic and embodied endeavor.
I have a person-centered approach which means that, above all, I empathize with your experiences and appreciate the meanings and values that have been created by these experiences. I believe that healing begins from a place of acceptance. With a kind heart and clearer understanding of how you arrived to this place in your journey, we work together to find ways to live more peacefully in the present while acknowledging the past, and begin to make changes as we explore choices that become more evident and available.

In my work with clients, I draw from the following modalities:
Everyone has a unique way in which they experience and take in information, creating different pathways of “knowing”. For this reason, it is important that we work together to implement a personalized and collaborative approach to therapy.
